BISHOP NWOKOLO RE-ELECTED CCN CHAIRMAN, ANAMBRA STATE

  The Christian Council of Nigeria, CCN, Anambra  State Chapter, has elected a new executive to run the affairs of the council for the next three years.
   In the election which was conducted during the General Meeting of the body held at the Episcopal House, GRA, Onitsha, on Wednesday, May 12, 2021,  the Bishop on the Niger, the Rt Rev. Dr Owen Nwokolo, was re-elected, for the second time, the Chairman of the council.
  Other members of the executive and their corresponding posts  include; the Rt Rev B. I. Onugha; Vice Chairman, Major John Okpalaihedi; Secretary and the Rt Rev Igwe Daniel; Assistant Secretary.
  Others are: Rev Moshud Ajuruonye; Financial Secretary, and Rev Ifeanyi Azubuike; Treasure.
   The less than two-hour election generally described as "very peaceful", was presided by the South East Zone of the council led by her Acting Chairman, Elder Levi Muonanu and the South East Zonal Secretary, Ven. Jonathan Agbo.
  Among personalities at the event were, the State President of the Women Wing of the council, and the wife of the Bishop on the Niger, Dr Elsie Nwokolo and the  State Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Ven. Joseph Nweke.
  In his brief acceptance speech,  the Rt Rev Dr Nwokolo, had on behalf of the new executive expressed profound appreciation for the opportunity he said they had been given in the organisation to serve God, the council and the Church of Christ.
  He stressed the determination of the executive to work tirelessly for the enthronement and sustainace of peace and progress of the organisation.
  Bishop Nwokolo promised that the council would work very hard to support both the incumbent and the yet-to-be  state governments towards the development of Anambra State as well as work to engender lasting peace and unity among Christian denominations in the state.
  He therefore solicited the surport of all the denominations in the state in order, according to him, for the council to actualise her set goals.
