AIMS

  1. To help us identify the qualities of a good shepherd, looking at the life of Jesus Christ.
  2. To identify some benefits of becoming a good shepherd of God’s flock.
  3. o understand some factors that can hinder one from becoming a good shepherd.

INTRODUCTION

QUESTIONS FOR DISCUSSION

  1. Peter charged the elders of the church to shepherd the flock of God among them, discuss some qualities of the good shepherd outlined in his charge (1 Peter 5:2-3).
  2. As a good shepherd Jesus searched for the lost sheep, was personally close to them, and call them by their names; How can we practically emulate Jesus as we feed and disciple His lambs? (John 10:3, Matt 18:10–14, John 21:5,9,12).
  3. Are there benefits of becoming a good shepherd? (1 Peter 5:2-4, John 10:14).
  4. What are those factors that inhibit some Christians from exhibiting the life of a good shepherd? And what do you advise?

CONCLUSION

Jesus modeled Good Shepherd Leadership Model to us in various ways, We are charged with the responsibility of caring, feeding and tending His flock as we follow His examples. We must desist from the characters of a hireling. God’s grace is sufficient to enable us discharge this all important task of feeding His lambs (John 21:15).
