Know your talent(s)

Another very important point to note in the division and assignment of duties to the families in Israel is their talents and gifts, and this is emphasized in today’s passage. Talents are imparted at birth, and can be hereditary. They are special abilities often associated with a family and can be transferred genetically. Every one, believers and non – believers alike, has some sort of talent or the other. For example, people have special abilities in different areas like Music, Arts, etc.\nSpiritual gifts on the other hand are given at new birth. Talents can be used to serve God as well as earn a living, while spiritual gifts are strictly “For the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ” Eph. 4:12. These include Word of wisdom, Word of knowledge, Faith, Gifts of Healings, Working of Miracles, Prophecy, Discerning of Spirits, Different kinds of Tongues, Interpretation of tongues, etc (1Cor. 12:8-10, 28, Eph. 4:11). Have you discovered your talent(s) and spiritual gift(s)? There is no child of God without a natural talent and spiritual gift. You need to discover your gift(s) and exercise them.
