In today’s passage, the attention was on the sons of Levi. They were dedicated to God’s service in the temple from the origin / foundation, quite unlike many of us who were dedicated to idol worship by our forebears.\nHowever, no matter how idolatrous a man’s foundation may be, it cannot be worse than that of our Lord Jesus Christ, with the traces of murder, prostitution, curse, etc in His genealogy (See Mathew 1:1-17). But because Jesus was born from above, He could not be stopped by any ancestral curses, for “He who comes from above is above all” (John 3:31). In the same vein, the only solution for ancestral / foundational problem is to be born from above. To be born from above is to change ancestry and be borne of God, “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, no longer born of man but of God” (John 1:12&13). Once this happens, you become a new creation (2Cor. 5:17), raised up and made to sit with Christ in the heavenly places (Eph. 2:6), “… far above all principalities and powers, and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come” (Eph. 1:19-21). Decide now and enjoy everlasting fellowship with God.
