A true testimony

ohn would conclude his gospel validating the truth of the Gospel of our LORD Jesus Christ, by saying, “We know that his testimony is true.”A1l along in the gospel of John, he was showing that Jesus loves us, as His Father does; His death on the cross brings us salvation and His resurrection is Life; His truth, mercy, grace, examples, messages, deeds and life keep expanding His work through believers. So some writers refer to this ending as a colophon-a finishing stroke or inscription placed at the end of a book or manuscript to give information about its authorship. For John, the colophon for his gospel is ‘Truth’; it affirms that this gospel is reliable. Jesus’ great work is too big for the world to contain. This is because Jesus did many great works when he was on earth. The greatest of this great work is seen in us His disciples. We are witnesses and evidence of His manifest redemptive mission. Everyone is called out to believe. Ultimately, the purpose of the Gospel is Christ in us and in others. So, since the world cannot contain a book that can record all that Jesus did, the expression of His Grace and Truth should be found in us. The Gospel Mission is the mission of GOD through us to the whole world. We are living epistles.
